The Art of Everyday Assertiveness Speak Up Set Boundaries Say No Take Back Control Get What You Want Audible Audio Edition Patrick King Russell Newton Books Reviews

  • Every since I was a kid, I have always been the shy guy at school. I was afraid to say no and always wanted to please people. I'm now studying in a university and luckily, it became less apparent. Saw this book and ordered a copy. Now I'm a few chapters in and have already been inspired. First few chapters covers how to balance your assertiveness and its effects. Then, it gives ways on how to combat your "YES-man" nature without building unwanted tension and ways to get it your way. So far, I think the techniques and ideas mentioned in the book is effective. However, I still need to apply most of it. Still, the ideas provided so far gave me a better understanding on what to do and how to handle a situation.
  • If you’re a sufferer of anxiety, and a victim of emotional abuse that has low self esteem and it’s been carried over to your communication style and relationships this book is for you! People that work in fields that are relationship businesses this is a must read. Strengthen your confidence and improve your awareness of communication.
  • Worthless. Nothing new here.
  • You will never get what you want if you don't speak up and this book helps get that drilled into your head. Passive aggressiveness will get you no where, you need to be able to communicate and express what you want from a given situation. You think you're too nice and can't say "NO" to someone well read this book if you want to change that, it has helped me in a few situations since I've read it. It doesn't make you a bad person to speak up for yourself and assert yourself so I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone willing to make that change.
