As Mason strengthens his magic over metal and stone, the Master lurks in the shadows.
To lure the Master out and stop his nefarious plot, Mason and his harem of mages and princesses have to do several things
1) Take over the Order of Mages
2) Build a train and railroad system to connect the kingdoms of Illaria and Cedis
3) Keep from getting burned by giant, murderous creatures made of flame

Sounds like a piece of cake, right?

"Mason is inventing up a storm in his adopted world. It seems the "Master" is taking exception to his meddling.. You know saving people and countries. This time Mason is making trains and who doesn't love trains? The Master, that's who.
The mechanics were a bit oversimplified but it's magic right. Still a fun and entertaining read. I look forward to more. Masons excitement is contagious."

Metal Mage 3 eBook Eric Vall Reviews

  • Really enjoyed this book, takes what has come before and spreads the foundation that was previously laid out wider and builds on it wisely. This review is intentionally vague to avoid spoiling anything for readers. While the metal Mage is still the main character by far, the rest of the world is getting filled in. Lots of new side characters including a potential new harem member. The two current harem members both have far more side activities to accomplish in this book giving room for for other characters to get some spotlight throughout the novel. The whole plot of the book was fun and made a great deal of sense from the MM's POV. The one minor disappointment was the main villain was too easy to discern and only interesting from the threats he threw at the protagonists, and not at all for his limited personality, but I do approve of who got to take him out. A fun book that bodes well for the future of the series. Thank you Eric Vail for writing this and your other series.

My personal plea at the end of the review. Michael Scott Earle is one of my favorite authors. On his Facebook page he suggested his readers check out Planet Brokers by a new author named Eric Vail. I liked the story, it was not so awesome that it blew away any other book I've read but it was a good solid story, with a strong plot, interesting characters and quality writing. I've continued reading Eric's releases as well as Planet Brokers 2 and buy every new book he releases. Sadly the sales were poor compared to later books. As mentioned Eric Vail is a good enough author I buy all of his new releases but Planet Brokers still holds a special spot and I miss the series. My hope is that if enough people go back and buy the first two books in the series sales will get to a point where it will make sense to revive the series. I have no idea how many sales it will take to accomplish this. I'd guess the whole idea is akin to a hail mary pass but it might work and I figure at the worst I've steered some people toward a dead series that is still a good read.

  • First of all, thank you Eric Vall. This book is near perfect, if not perfect. I love the way the author builds upon the magic system. I also enjoy how how the protagonist makes use of his memory on earth and combines it with his unique abilities in order to make inventions. It's like the Wild Wild West with magic thrown in for good measure. An exceptional book and series. Can't wait for the next one.
  • I really liked how the author allowed the MC to use ideas from earth to make his world better. This is a classic good vs evil book but it's not boring or too mundane. I'm very much interested in his next book in this series. Get this series as you won't be disappointed.
  • I thoroughly enjoyed this book just as I did the previous two books. The author seems to go from strength to strength with his storyline, character development as well as all the new elements he keep adding to the story.
  • They just keep getting better and better. I just love the world that the author has created and the bond between the MC and his women. It’s a great book that you should read.
  • Liking the series more and more as they go further afield. One critical issue buffalo wings are served with Bleu Cheese, ranch is a heresy. Jus' saying.
  • Eric Vall has done it again , This third book is a great addition to the Metal Mage universe .
Looking forward to the next set of books that Mr. Vall hopefully plans to.write in this world.
